Fourteen years is a long time -- you have lost an old friend.

Second, I'm glad you enjoyed my comments. I'll admit I've been discouraged by the low level of interactions re: academic writing blogs to the point of wondering whether it's worth it to reach out? I see your point about twitter but responding to a tweet is nearly effortless compared to responding to a thoughtful post!

To answer your question, my new blog is here:

http://www.yourmindonfire.com/

and the ideas in the latest post center around an idea I gleaned from one of your posts.

I hope you like it!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15711792521348799922noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5438130766662933004.post-89033190052060539032012-05-30T14:55:06.029-04:002012-05-30T14:55:06.029-04:00Susan,

If you share your link, I will most certainly tune in.

It sounds like many exciting things are happening in your life. Congratulations on your acceptance into grad school and your marriage :) Both are wonderful news.

I agree. Sadly, the interaction on the blogs is not very high. When I look at the number of hits, it always surprises me. It's way, way more than the number of comments. I suppose it's difficult for teachers to take the time to respond when there's grading to do, research to perform, and a million other tasks on our plate. Twitter complements the blog well for that very reason.

I look forward to hearing more from you.

Thanks again!

NicoleAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09743634961727582102noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5438130766662933004.post-69629435969092705332012-05-23T20:29:49.467-04:002012-05-23T20:29:49.467-04:00Hi Nicole, congratulations to your sister!
Booke...Hi Nicole, congratulations to your sister!

Booker does sound inspiring. I love this: "You are here because people dared to love so hard in their lives that they loved generations yet unborn."

By the way I was accepted to my grad program and I'm really excited. As you suggested I've set up a blog and got my first post up today. It's taken awhile because I just got married 4/22! That's why my name is different.

I added you and a few other academic blogs to my blogroll but I expect that list to change as I learn more about what people are writing.

One thing I've noticed and am curious about is the lack of reader interaction on these academic blogs. Don't people want to interact with readers?

I plan to catch up on more of your posts but have to go for now...Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15711792521348799922noreply@blogger.com
